Mental Health Counseling
Mental health counseling assesses and treats mental and emotional health disorders, relationship issues and life challenges. Through various methods of psychotherapy, I work with clients to develop effective and individualized symptom management skills.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidenced-based form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying thinking patterns and beliefs and understanding the relationship between thoughts, behavior and emotions.
Dance/Movement Therapy
Dance/movement therapy uses dance and movement to explore thoughts, feelings, and actions. Dance/movement therapy works with the body-mind connection to facilitate healing and helps individuals learn to express themselves authentically through movement. All movement is meaningful and is a creative tool for developing self-awareness and healthy coping resources. For more information on dance/movement therapy, go to: https://www.adta.org/
Sound Healing
Sound healing is the use of specific instruments, music, tones, and other sonic vibrations to balance and heal the body, mind, and spirit. It involves using specialized sound frequencies to create a therapeutic atmosphere to promote deep rest, nervous system rebalancing, and emotional release. I offer individual and group sound bath experiences. Inquire to learn more.
Supervision for Dance/Movement Therapists
I offer in person and remote supervision for dance/movement therapists in training and registered dance/movement therapists working towards their BC-DMT certification.
Speaking Engagements and Workshops
I offer workshops and presentations on dance/movement therapy, mental health counseling, and sound healing. I have presented on a variety of counseling topics, including working with LGBTQIA+ clients, regulating the nervous system, self-care, and the importance of rest and relaxation for mental health & wellness. My Approach
I use a person-centered approach and draw from a variety of techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and existential therapy. I believe therapy is collaborative and should prioritize the client's interests, goals, and personal strengths. You know yourself best and are in the drivers seat with your life. I can support you along your path by reflecting back strengths and growth opportunities coupled with clinical tools to strengthen your skills and resources. Above all, I strive to be non-judgmental, positive, engaging, culturally-sensitive, and attuned to your individual needs and preferences.
