Frequently Asked Questions

How much are your services for therapy?

Professional Fees

  • $220 per 50-minute individual counseling session

  • $240 per 50-minute couples counseling session

  • I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to assess treatment needs and fit

  • In compliance with Title 45, section 149.610 Code of Federal Regulations, I will provide a "Good Faith Estimate" of anticipated therapy costs to private pay clients at the start of treatment.

What types of payments do you accept?

Credit, debit, or HSA card.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule your session. I have a 48-hour late cancellation policy. That means that if you do not attend your scheduled therapy session, and have not notified me within 48 hours of the appointment, you will be charged the full cost of the session.

Prior to your first appointment, a credit card will be required to reserve your session which will be uploaded in my secure electronic health record. This card will be charged for missed appointments or late cancellations.

Will insurance cover our session?

I am in-network with the following insurance panels:

  • Health Plan of San Mateo

  • San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services

I am out of network with several private health insurance panels and can bill your insurance directly if you provide me with your insurance card. Alternatively, I can send you a Superbill, which you can provide to your insurance in order to seek reimbursement.

Please note that I require clients to verify their own eligibility and benefits for out-of-network rates with their insurance carrier and that there is no guarantee of reimbursement.

I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits and/or telehealth (online therapy)?

  • Do I have a deductible?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
